Ashveena Gajeelee

Board member of African Union: Capacity Building Foundation

Ashveena Gajeelee is a leadership educator and cycle breaker with more than 15 years of experience in public policy, global health, and financial management. She equips professionals to adopt innovative tools that continually enhance their own leadership qualities.

Pre-pandemic, Ashveena managed the Global Access in Action project at the Harvard Law School, where she supported action-oriented research on access to medicines and global public health challenges faced by the world’s most vulnerable populations. Prior to Harvard, she worked in several governmental organizations in her home country of Mauritius, including the Financial Services Commission, the Prime Minister’s Office, and is a former advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Development of Mauritius.

Ashveena has worked with more than 40 African ministries of finance to build capabilities and reinforce transparency. She is also a Board member of the African Union – Capacity Building Foundation rethinking leadership in Africa; the Harvard Alumni Board and the Whittier Street Health Center, USA. Ashveena shares her passion as a leadership educator in many institutions including the Harvard Kennedy School, McGill University; the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the United States; and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Morocco.
