Dr. Efrah Wozir Abdulahi

Dr. Efrah Wozir Abdulahi, a distinguished leader with a PhD in Business Administration from Wuhan University of Technology, is the Mayor of Maya City in Ethiopia and has been serving in this role since December 2022. With over 8 years of experience from governmental and nongovernmental organisations, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to municipal governance. Before taking up this seat, she served as the Head of Investment and Industry Office at Shaggar City and led the East Hararge Zone Pastoral Area Development Office. She previously held a role as Deputy Head and Expert in Disaster Risk Management and Food Security. Dr. Abdulahi continues her legacy of impactful leadership in her current role. Her academic journey includes a Master’s in Public Procurement and Asset Management from Ethiopia Civil Service University and a Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business Management from Haramaya University.

As a researcher, Dr. Abdulahi has published several articles in renowned academic journals, showcasing her commitment to advancing knowledge. Her scholarly contributions encompass topics such as container operational risk, multimodal transportation risk management, and the socio-economic relationship between Ethiopia and China.
