Mahmoud Muhammed Mussa

Lord Mayor of Zanzibar city council, Tanzania

Mr Mahmoud Muhammed Mussa is the Lord Mayor of Zanzibar City Council. Prior to his current role he served as the Chairperson of the House of Representatives, as well as Chairperson and member of various committees including but not limited to the Select Committee in the House of Representatives to Monitor Loss of Documents (2014), the Finance Committee, and the Business and Agriculture Committee (2011 – 2013). Mr Mussa has been an active member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party in Tanzania since 1978, and has served in various capacities over the past 30 years. Before embarking on his political career he worked in freight, logistics, and operations management.
