Dresse Sahilu Goshu

Former Mayor of Bahir Dar City, Ethiopia

Dresse Sahilu Goshu became Mayor of Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, in October 2022. He holds a PhD in Administrative Management from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, and also holds degrees in Leadership and Good Governance as well as in Geography and Environmental Sciences, and Forestry.

He worked as a forestry expert, land administration, and planning expert at district level for five years, before taking on various leadership positions as Agricultural Office Head, Public Relations Advisor, and Vice Administrator at district level. He has also worked as the Head of Communications and Public Relations for the zone’s administration. Upon completing his PhD he took up the position of Mayor of Bahir Dar. He is also a politician in the Prosperity Party and a member of its Central Committee.
