John-Charuk S. Siafa was commissioned as the City Mayor of Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia in March 2024. Prior to this, he was the Head of Business and Economic Affairs within the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Liberia. The 28th mayor of Monrovia, the driven leader is also a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in administration, accounting, sales, and marketing. As the Founder and CEO of Siafa Group from 2016 to 2023, he orchestrated the restructuring of Premier Service Group into a formidable holding company with subsidiary entities, underscoring his strategic acumen and visionary leadership.

Coming into office, the mayor set out to improve waste management, underlined by the goal to promote a safer and cleaner environment that supports good health and attracts visitors to stimulate the local economy. Closely tied to this has been awareness campaigns that seek to bring residents of Monrovia on board in maintaining the cleanliness of the city. Additionally, the mayor has prioritised the need to capacitate and empower municipal personnel, and to align their skills with the relevant functions to ensure efficient service delivery. Mayor Siafa holds a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Rome Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from AME University, Liberia.
