Goshu Endalamaw Wondimagegn is the Mayor of Bahir Dar City, a position he has held since 2024, bringing over three decades of public service experience across local, regional, and federal levels of government. He holds a Master’s degree in Regional and Local Development Studies from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Management from the Ethiopian Civil Service University, complemented by formal training in extensive leadership development programs. Mayor Goshu has previously served as Director of the Amhara National Regional State Bureau of Plan and Development, Special Advisor to the President of the Amhara National Regional State with bureau head status, and Chief Administrator of West Gojjam Zone. His career also includes service as a Member of the House of Peoples’ Representatives and leadership roles in environmental protection, land administration, and agricultural development. Recognized for his strong governance, strategic planning, and intergovernmental coordination skills, Mayor Goshu continues to play a key role in advancing urban development and transformations in Bahir Dar City.
