H.E. Hailu Jelde is the Mayor of Adama City in Oromia, Ethiopia. He is a former Commissioner of the Oromia Investment Commission, an influential leader in the Oromia People Representative Council, and a member of the Prosperity Party’s Central Committee. He is well known for his transformational leadership and identifying strategic priorities for Oromia’s sustainable urban development. One of his signature projects, Smart Adama, seeks to mobilise all urban actors toward a common urban development agenda.
