H.W. Regina Bakitte is the Mayor of Uganda’s Nansana Municipality and Vice President of the Network of Mayors in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. She also sits on the Covenant of Mayors in Sub-Saharan Africa (CoMSSA) Regional Mayors Forum. She is a passionate people’s person with over 15 years of experience in political and managerial leadership in Uganda. She is committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of all individuals, and is a strong advocate for sustainable health development, especially among vulnerable populations. Mayor Bakitte holds a Master’s degree in Public Health specialising in Population and Reproductive Health, a Bachelor’s degree in Environment Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
