Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma

Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma was appointed as the Governor of Khomas region in March 2025, making him the youngest person to occupy the role. His political career kicked off when he joined his party’s pioneer movement and subsequently became a Section Chairman at the grassroots structure of the SWAPO Party Youth League in 2010. In December 2020, the young Nujoma became a council member at the Municipal Council of Windhoek. In February 2023, he was elected as Chairman of the Windhoek Council's Management Committee, the Municipal Council's second-highest decision-making body. He also chaired the Council Advisory Committee on Financial Sustainability, Performance Management, and Policy. In addition to other board memberships in the corporate and public sectors, he was a member of the Governing Council of the Namibian University of Science and Technology, which highlights his unwavering commitment to impactful leadership and sustainable development. Nujoma was also a member of the Association of Local Authorities of Namibia (ALAN) and chaired its Finance Committee. A passionate advocate for youth empowerment and economic development, Honourable Nujoma has been instrumental in driving initiatives aimed at Smart City innovations and financial sustainability, leaving an indelible mark on Windhoek's growth and transformation. He is dedicated to carrying out his duties with integrity, transparency, and compassion. Nujoma is a member of the SWAPO Party Youth League’s Central Committee, and its Secretary for Khomas Region. He is also a member of the SWAPO Party Khomas Regional Executive Committee, the highest decision-making body on regional political matters.
